How to Find the WiFi Password on Your Android Phone

If you need to share your WiFi password with a friend or connect to another device but can’t remember it, there are simple ways to retrieve it if your Android phone is already connected to the network. Here are just a few steps to find the WiFi password on your Android phone.

1. Using Android 10 or Later

Android 10 introduced a built-in feature that allows users to view saved WiFi passwords. Follow these steps:  

Step 1: Open the **Settings** app on your phone.  

Step 2: Navigate to **Network & Internet** or **Connections** (the name may vary by manufacturer).  

Step 3: Tap on **WiFi**, and then select the network you’re connected to.  

Step 4: Look for a **Share** option or a **QR Code** icon and tap on it (you may be prompted to authenticate using your PIN or fingerprint).  

Step 5: Once authenticated, a QR code will appear on your screen, along with the network password displayed below it.  

2. For Older Android Versions 

If your phone runs on Android 9 or earlier, you may not have the built-in feature to view WiFi passwords. In this case:  

Option 1: If your phone is rooted, you can access saved WiFi passwords by navigating to `/data/misc/wifi/` and opening the `wpa_supplicant.conf` file using a file manager app.  

Option 2: Use a third-party app like WiFi Password Viewer (root access is required).  

3. Using Google Account Sync 

If you’ve saved the WiFi password to your Google account, you can:  

- Log into Google Settings and check your saved networks under **Manage Your Google Account > Security > Saved Passwords.  

4. Access the Router 

Alternatively, you can log into your router’s settings using its IP address (usually 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1) and view the password under the wireless settings.
